(/us/pvtl/76/182)] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the Comptroller Joseph W. Parse.Allowance of claim for services as U. S. Commissioner.General of the United States be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to settle and allow the claim of Joseph W. Parse for compensation for services rendered as United States Commissioner in the eastern district of Arkansas from December 1, 1933, to November 30, 1936, inclusive, notwithstanding the fact that accounts therefor were not submitted by the Commissioner within one year after the rendition of such services in accordance with the provisions [47 Stat. 1383](/us/stat/47/1383).[28 U. S. C. § 599a](/us/usc/t28/s599a).of the Act of March 1, 1933 (47 Stat. 1383).

Digitization Vendor 2024-11-24 53 Stat. 1513 76 1 private [CHAPTER 573] AN ACT For the relief of Hugh McGuire.August 7, 1939[[S. 765](/us/bill/76/s/765)][[Private, No. 183](/us/pvtl/76/183)] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the Secretary Hugh McGuire.Payment to.of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $600 to Hugh McGuire, of Turner, Montana, in full satisfaction of his claim against the United States for the loss of his truck, such truck having been destroyed on December 5, 1936, by a fire which burned a garage at Turner, Montana, in which it was stored for the purpose of safeguarding its load, consisting of property used in connection with Resettlement Administration projects: *Provided*, That no part of *Proviso*.Limitation on attorney’s, etc., fees.the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding.
Any person violating the provisions of this ActPenalty for violation. shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000.
