Carroll.May be enlisted as chief commissary steward, Navy, and retired. That in consideration of his long and faithful service in various positions at the United States Naval Academy, where he is now employed as utility man for the midshipmen’s mess, and of his enlisted service in the regular Navy on various midshipmen’s cruises, extending, in all, over a continuous period of fifty years, the Secretary of the Navy is hereby authorized to enlist Joseph S. Carroll as a chief commissary steward in the United States Navy and to immediately thereafter transfer him to the retired list of the Navy with the retired pay of *Provisos*.No back pay, etc.that rating: *Provided*, That the said Joseph S.
Carroll shall not be entitled to any back pay or allowances prior to the date upon which he may be transferred to the retired list, as herein authorized: *Provided* 1983*further*, That the enlistment of the said Joseph S. Carroll, as herein Age, etc., disregarded.authorized, may be effected without regard to age or physical qualifications. Approved, May 26, 1928.
