R. 8527](/us/bill/70/hr/8527).][[Private, No. 23](/us/pvtl/70/23).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,International Petroleum Company, Limited.May bring suit for collision damages to steamer “ Trontoiite” in district court. That the claim of the International Petroleum Company, Limited, of Toronto, Canada, charterer of the tank steamer Trontolite, against the United States for damages alleged to have been caused by collision between said steamer Trontolite and the United States Navy Submarine C-2 at Cristobal, Canal Zone, on November 30, 1918, may be determined in a suit to be brought by said claimant against the United States in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, sitting as a court of admiralty and acting under the rules governing Jurisdiction of court. such court in admiralty cases, and that said court shall have jurisdiction to hear and determine said suit and to enter a judgment or decree for the amount of such damages and costs, if any, as shall be found due from the United States to the said International Petroleum Company, Limited, by reason of said collision upon the same 1707principles and under the same measures of liability as in like cases between private parties, and with the same rights of appeal: *Provided*, *Provisos*.Notice to Attorney General.That such notice of the suit shall be given to the Attorney General of the United States as may be provided by order of the said court, and upon such notice it shall the duty of the Attorney General to cause the United States attorney in such district to appear and defend for the United States: *Provided further*, That such suit Commencement of suit.shall be begun within four months of the date of the approval of this Act.
