December 21, 1898. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the recorder of deeds ofDistrict of Columbia.Use of typewriting machines, office recorder of deeds. the District of Columbia be, and he is hereby, authorized and empowered to purchase and use in his office, for the recording of deeds and other instruments of writing required by law to be recorded in said office, typewriting machines, to be paid tor as appropriations may be made from time to time; and all deeds and other instruments of writing entitled by law to be recorded in said office which shall be recorded by typewriting machines are hereby declared to be legally recorded. 770 FIFTY-FIFTH CONGRESS.
Sess. III. Chs. 33–36. 1898. Sec. 2. That all acts and parts of acts inconsistent with the provisionsRepeal. of this Act be, and the same are hereby, repealed. Approved, December 21, 1898.
