Sec. 336. Director of National Intelligence report on trends in technologies of strategic importance to United States

Not less frequently than once every 2 years until the date that is 4 years after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of National Intelligence shall submit to Congress a report assessing commercial and foreign trends in technologies the Director considers of strategic importance to the national and economic security of the United States. The report required by subsection
(a)shall include the following: A list of the top technology focus areas that the Director considers to be of the most strategic importance to the United States. A list of the top technology focus areas in which countries that are adversarial to the United States are poised to match or surpass the technological leadership of the United States. Each report submitted under subsection
(a)may take the form of a National Intelligence Estimate and shall be submitted in classified form, but may include an unclassified summary.
