Sec. 105. Promulgation of standards for Federal geospatial data

The Administrator, in consultation with the Administrator of the Office of Electronic Government, shall promulgate standards to ensure the interoperability of geospatial data collected by or with the support of the Federal Government. Such standards shall be consistent with— standards applicable to geospatial data in the Federal Real Property Profile established under section 4(c) of Executive Order No. 13327 of February 4, 2004; and protocols for the collection of geospatial data developed under section 216 of the E-Government Act of 2002 ( Public Law 107–347 ; 44 U.S.C. 3501 note).
The head of each agency of the Federal Government shall coordinate with the Administrator to ensure that all geospatial data collected by or with the support of the agency conforms with the standards promulgated under subsection (a), including geospatial data collected under the following authorities: Office of Management and Budget Circular A–16. Executive Order No. 12906 of April 11, 1994. The Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act of 1974 ( 12 U.S.C. 2601 et seq. ). The Home Mortgage Disclosure Act of 1975 ( 12 U.S.C. 2801 et seq. ).
The Administrator shall encourage conformance of all other geospatial data collected for lands in the United States with the standards promulgated under paragraph (1).
