68 Stat. 320 Public Law 438 chapter 410 JOINT RESOLUTION To amend the National Housing Act, as amended, and for other purposes. June 29, 1954[[S. J. Res. 167](/us/bill/83/sjres/167)] *Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the National Housing Act, as amended, is hereby amended—
(1)[65 Stat. 315](/us/stat/65/315); [66 Stat. 602](/us/stat/66/602).[12 USC 1716](/us/usc/t12/s1716).[65 Stat. 313](/us/stat/65/313).[12 USC 1748b(a)](/us/usc/t12/s1748b/a). by striking “July 1” in paragraph
(G)of section 301
(a)and inserting “August 1”; and
(2)by striking “July 1” in section 803
(a)and inserting “July 31”. Sec. 2.
(a)Section 10 of the Reconstruction Finance Corporation[61 Stat. 206](/us/stat/61/206).15 USC 609. Act, as amended, is hereby amended by striking therefrom the words “at the expiration of the succession of the Corporation” and inserting in lieu thereof the words “by the close of business on June 30, 1954”.
(b)Subsection
(a)of section 102 of the Reconstruction Finance[67 Stat. 230](/us/stat/67/230).[15 USC 603(a)](/us/usc/t15/s603/a). Corporation Liquidation Act is amended to read as follows: " “(a) The first sentence of section 3
(a)of the Reconstruction[62 Stat. 262](/us/stat/62/262). Finance Corporation Act, as amended (15 U. S. C. 603 (a)), is amended to read: ‘The Corporation shall have succession until it is[15 USC 609](/us/usc/t15/s609). dissolved pursuant to the provisions of section 10 of this Act’.” "
(c)Section 105 of the Reconstruction Finance Corporation Liquidation[15 USC 603 note](/us/usc/t15/s603). Act is amended by striking the words “termination of succession” wherever they appear therein and inserting in lieu thereof the word “dissolution”.
(d)Subsection
(a)of section 106 of the Reconstruction Finance[15 USC 603 note](/us/usc/t15/s603). Corporation Liquidation Act is amended to read as follows: " “(a) Promptly after June 30, 1954, the Administrator of the ReconstructionReport. Finance Corporation shall make a full report to the Congress.” " Sec. 3. Section 104 of the Defense Housing and Community Facilities[67 Stat. 125](/us/stat/67/125).[42 USC 1591c](/us/usc/t42/s1591c). and Services Act of 1951, as amended, is hereby amended by striking out “June 30, 1954” and inserting “July 31, 1954”. Sec. 4. The Servicemen’s Readjustment Act of 1944, as amended, is hereby amended—
(1)[64 Stat. 76](/us/stat/64/76).[38 USC 694*l*](/us/usc/t38/s694l). by striking “June 30” in clause
(C)of section 512
(b)and inserting “July 31”:

(a)and inserting “July 31”; and
(3)[66 Stat. 64](/us/stat/66/64). by striking “June 30” in the first sentence of section 513
(d)and inserting “July 31”. Sec. 5. *Post*, p. 647. Title V of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended, is hereby amended as follows:
(a)[66 Stat. 604](/us/stat/66/604).[42 USC 1481](/us/usc/t42/s1481). In the first sentence of section 511 immediately following the phrase “July 1, 1952,” strike the word “and”, and insert at the end of the sentence just before the period a comma and the language “and an additional $8,500,000 on and after July 1, 1954”.
(b)[66 Stat. 604](/us/stat/66/604).[42 USC 1482](/us/usc/t42/s1482). In section 512,
(i)strike “and 1953” and insert “1953, and 1954”, and
(ii)strike “and $2,000,000” and insert “$2,000,000, and $170,000”.
(c)[66 Stat. 604](/us/stat/66/604).[42 USC 1483](/us/usc/t42/s1483). In section 513, strike “and $10,000,000 on July 1 of each of the years 1950, 1951, 1952, and 1953” and insert “$10,000,000, and $850,000 on July 1 of each of the years 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, and 1954”.
