Chap. XIII, art. 29, 30 RR) (676–681) Section VI. Duration and Control of Work 676 § 23. In no case, in the maritime mobile service, must working on 500 kc/s exceed 5 minutes. 677 § 24. In communication between land stations and mobile stations, the mobile station shall comply with the instructions given by the land station, in all questions relating to the order and time of transmission, to the choice of frequency and of the class of emission, and to the duration and suspension of work.
This provision does not apply to cases of distress. 678 § 25. In communication between mobile stations, except in cases of distress, the station called controls the working in the manner indicated in 677. Section VII. Tests 679 § 26. Where it is necessary for a mobile station to send signals for testing or adjustment which are liable to interfere with the working of a neighbouring coast or aeronautical station, the consent of the station must be obtained before such signals are sent. 680 § 27.
When it is necessary for a station in the mobile service to make test signals, either for the adjustment of a transmitter before making a call or for the adjustment of a receiver, they must not continue for more than 10 seconds and must be composed of a series of VW followed by the call sign of the station emitting the test signals.
