(2)Aircraft stations when communicating with stations of the maritime mobile service on frequencies allocated to the maritime mobile service shall comply as far as possible with the provisions of this article. Section IV. Lifeboat, Liferaft and Survival Craft Stations 600 § 15.
(1)Any installation used on board a lifeboat, a liferaft, or a survival craft, compulsorily provided with radio apparatus as a result of an international agreement, must be capable of transmitting by radiotelegraphy on the frequency 500 kc/s, preferably class A2 emission. In cases where the equipment provides for the use of frequencies between 4 000 and 23 000 kc/s, it must be able to transmit on the frequency 8 364 kc/s, preferably class A2 emission. 601
(2)If the equipment includes a receiver, it shall be able to receive on 500 kc/s, preferably class A2 emission, and, in the case where the transmitter employs frequencies between 4 000 and 23 000 kc/s, and a receiver is provided, it must be able to receive classes A1 and A2 emissions throughout the band 8 266 to 8 745 kc/s. (1)In the maritime mobile and aeronautical mobile services the procedure detailed in this article is obligatory, except in the case of distress calls or of distress traffic, to which the provisions of article 37 are applicable. 603
