Chap. XCIII.— An Act *for the relief of William Markham.* July 27, 1842. *Be it enacted, &c*., That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he hereby is, authorized and required to refund and pay to William Mark-ham, of Bath county, in the state of Kentucky, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars, being the amount paid by the said William Markham towards the discharge of a bond or recognizance, in which he was one of the sureties for one Josiah Reed, who was indicted for felony in the circuit court of the United States for the district of Kentucky, which said bond or recognizance was remitted by the President of the United States:
A certain sum to be refunded.*Provided*, That, before the repayment of said money, the Secretary of the Treasury shall be satisfied that the costs of the suit against said sureties, on said bond or recognizance, have been paid.
