Catlett.* July 2, 1836. *Be it enacted, &c.*, That the proper accounting officers of the treasury department be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed toAmount of loss by capture of tobacco. &c., to be credited to him.Act of April 9, 1816, ch. 10.Act of March 3, 1817, ch. 110. settle, upon the principles of the acts of Congress of the ninth April, eighteen hundred and sixteen, and third of March, eighteen hundred and seventeen, the claim of Charles 1.
Catlett for tobacco which belonged to him at Magruder’s warehouse, Cedarpoint warehouse, and Nottingham warehouse, all in the state of Maryland; and was lost, captured, or destroyed, by the British or American troops during the 674TWENTY-FOURTH CONGRESS. Sess. I. Ch. 318, 319, 320, 321. 1836.last war between the United States and Great Britain; which said allowance shall be carried to the credit of the said Charles I. Catlett on the books of the treasury. Approved, July 2, 1836.
