(/us/pl/75/1)] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the times for Wabash River. Time extended for bridging, at Merom, Ind. commencing and completing the construction of a bridge across the bridging, at Merom, Wabash River, at or near Merom, Sullivan County, Indiana, authorized to be built by Sullivan County, Indiana, or any board or commission of said county which is or may be created or established for the purpose, by an Act of Congress approved February 10, 1932, heretofore extended by Acts of Congress approved April 30, 1934, [47 Stat. 44](/us/stat/47/44); [48 Stat. 654](/us/stat/48/654); [49 Stat. 429, 1254](/us/stat/49/429/1254); [50 Stat. 475](/us/stat/50/475).June 28, 1935, May 1, 1936, and July 5, 1937, are hereby extended one and three years, respectively, from July 5, 1938.
Sec. 2. The right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act is hereby Amendment. expressly reserved. Approved, June 29, 1938. June 29, 1938[[H. R. 10777](/us/bill/75/hr/10777)][[Public, No. 768](/us/pl/75/768)] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That in order to Rainy River. Baudette, Minn., may bridge.facilitate international commerce, improve the postal service, and provide for other purposes the village of Baudette, Minnesota, its successors and assigns, be, and it is hereby, authorized to construct, maintain, and operate a bridge and approaches thereto across the Rainy River, so far as the United States has jurisdiction over the waters of such river, at a point suitable to the interests of navigation at Baudette, Minnesota, in accordance with the provisions of the Act entitled, “An Act to regulate the construction of bridges over navigable waters”, approved March 23, 1906, subject to the conditions and, [34 Stat. 84](/us/stat/34/84).[33 U. S. C. §491](/us/usc/t33/s491).limitations contained in this Act, and subject to the approval of the proper authorities in Canada.
There is hereby conferred upon the village of Baudette, Minnesota, Acquisition of real estate, etc.its successors and assigns, all such rights and powers to enter upon lands and to acquire, condemn, occupy, possess, and use real estate and other property in the State of Minnesota, needed for the location, construction, operation, and maintenance of such bridge and its approaches as are possessed by railroad corporations for railroad purposes or by bridge corporations for bridge purposes in the State of Minnesota upon making just compensation therefor to be ascertained and paid according to the laws of such State, and the proceedings therefor shall be the same as in the condemnation or expropriation of property for public purpose in such State. 52 Stat. 1230 Tolls.
That the said village of Baudette, Minnesota, its successors and assigns, are hereby authorized to fix and charge tolls for transit over such bridge in accordance with any laws of Canada applicable thereto, and the rates of toll so fixed shall be the legal rates until changed by the Secretary of War under the authority contained in the Act of March 23, 1906. Rights conferred. The right to sell, assign, transfer, and mortgage all the rights, powers, and privileges conferred by this Act is hereby granted to the village of Baudette, Minnesota, its successors and assigns; and any corporation to which or any person to whom such rights, powers, and privileges may be sold, assigned, or transferred, or who shall acquire the same by mortgage foreclosure or otherwise, is hereby authorized and empowered to exercise the same as fully as though conferred herein directly upon such corporation or person.
Amendment. The right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act is hereby expressly reserved. Approved, June 29, 1938.
