(/us/bill/75/pvtl/734)] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the SecretaryWilliam R. Kellogg.Payment to. of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to William R. Kellogg, of Jamestown, North Dakota, out of any52 Stat. 1404 money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $675, in full settlement of all claims against the United States for three months’ rent of his building, situate on lots 8 and 9, block 33, city of Jamestown, North Dakota, and used as a post office in that city, in lieu of three months’ notice of cancelation which he was entitled to receive under a lease to such property, dated March 30, 1926: *Proviso*.Limitation on attorney’s, etc., fees. *Provided*, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any Penalty for violation.contract to the contrary notwithstanding.
Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved, June 25, 1938. That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Mrs. John Olson, of Grafton, North Dakota, the sum of $750 in full satisfaction of her claim against the United States on account of personal injuries suffered when she slipped and fell on the hazardous sidewalk in front of the post-office building at Grafton, North Dakota, *Proviso*.Limitation on attorney’s, etc., fees.on December 23, 1933: *Provided*, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or agents, attorney or attorneys, on account of services rendered in connection with said claim.
It shall be unlawful for any agent or agents, attorney or attorneys, to exact, collect, withhold, or receive any sum of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof on account of services rendered in connection with said claim, any Penalty for violation.contract to the contrary notwithstanding.
