(/us/pvtl/75/474)] *Be it enacted by the Senate and Bouse of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the Secretary John Fitzgerald and J. R. Harper. Payment to. of the Treasury is hereby authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury allocated by the President for the maintenance and operation of the Civilian Conservation Corps, to John Fitzgerald, of Sweetwater, Tennessee, the sum of $2,000, and to J. R. 52 Stat. 1290Harper, of Sweetwater, Tennessee, the sum of $750, in full satisfaction of their claims against the United States for personal injuries and property damage sustained on June 16, 1936, when the automobile in which they were riding was crowded off McFarland Road, near Arch ville, Polk County, Tennessee, by a Forest Service truck *Provisos.* Condition. operated in connection with the Civilian Conservation Corps: *Provided,* That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act shall be paid until the judgment rendered against John Hansird, CCC enrollee, in favor of John Fitzgerald, is released and fully satisfied Limitation on attorney’s, etc., fees.of record: *Provided further,* That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be Penalty for violation.unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding.
Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved, April 9, 1938. S. C. §§751–790](/us/usc/t5/s751/790).7, 1916, the United States Employees’ Compensation Commission is authorized and directed to consider and act upon any claim filed by Lawrence E.
Thomas, of Whitman, Massachusetts, for disability from injuries allegedly incurred by him in March 1934 while an employee of the Civil Works Administration, in accordance with the Act entitled “An Act making an additional appropriation to carry out the purposes of the Federal Emergency Relief Act of 1933, for [48 Stat. 351](/us/stat/48/351). *Provisos.* Time for filing claim. No prior benefits. continuation of the Civil Works program, and for other purposes”, approved February 15, 1934: *Provided,* That said claim shall be filed within six months after the approval of this Act: *Provided further,* That no benefits shall accrue prior to the approval of this Act.
