(/us/bill/75/pl/86)] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the ActFlood Control Act of 1936, amendment.Los Angeles and San Gabriel Rivers, Calif.Flood control project extended.[49 Stat. 1589](/us/stat/49/1589). entitled “An Act authorizing the construction of certain public works on rivers and harbors for flood control, and for other purposes”, approved June 22, 1936, is hereby amended by changing the heading “Los Angeles and San Gabriel Rivers, California”, to read “Los Angeles County Drainage Area, California”, and changing the paragraph immediately following said heading to read as follows:
“Construction of reservoirs and principal flood channels ‘in Los Angeles and San Gabriel Rivers and Ballona Creek and tributaries thereof’ ”, in accordance with plans to be approved by the Chief of Engineers on recommendation of the Board of Engineers for Rivers and Harbors at an estimated construction cost not to exceed $70,000,000; estimatedEstimated costs. cost of lands and damages, $5,000,000.
