CHAP. 618.— An Act To authorize the appointment of employees in the executive branch of the Government and the District of Columbia. June 26, 1930.[[H. R. 11978](/us/bill/71/hr/11978).][[Public, No. 441](/us/pl/71/441).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That section 169 Executive departments, etc.[R. S., sec. 169, p. 20, amended](/us/rs/s169/p20).[U. S. C., p. 30](/us/usc/30).Number of employees in.of the Revised Statutes, as amended (U.
S. C., Vol. 42, p. 1488.[U. S. C., p. 65](/us/usc/65).title 5, sec. 43), is amended to read as follows: " “There is authorized to be employed in each executive department, independent establishment, and the municipal government of the District of Columbia, for services in the District of Columbia or elsewhere, such number of employees of the various classes recognized by the Classification Act of 1923, as amended (U. S. C., title 5, ch. 13), as may be appropriated for by Congress from year to year: *Provided*, That the head of any department or independent *Proviso.*Delegation of power to employ tor field services, authorized.establishment may delegate to subordinates, under such regulations as he may prescribe, the power to employ such persons for duty in the field services of his department or establishment.Vol. 44, p. 620, repealed.
