May 29, 1928.[[S. 1981](/us/bill/70/s/1981).][[Private, No. 266](/us/pvtl/70/266).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Staten Island Ship-building Company.May bring suit for collision damages to Dry Dock numbered 6, in district court.
That the claim of Staten Island Shipbuilding Company, owner of Dry Dock Numbered 6, against the United States of America for damages alleged to have been caused by a collision on January 6, 1923, between Dry Dock Numbered 6 and the steamship Cody, in Kill von Kull, New York Harbor, while the said steamship was owned by the United States of America and was being operated in the service of the United States Shipping Board, may be sued for by the said Staten Island Shipbuilding Company in the District Court of the United States for the Southern District of New York, sitting as a court of admiralty, and acting under the rules governing such court; and said Jurisdiction of court.court shall have jurisdiction to hear and determine said suit and to enter a judgment or decree for the amount of such damages and costs, if any, as shall be found to be due against the United States in favor of Staten Island Shipbuilding Company, or against Staten Island Shipbuilding Company in favor of the United States, upon the same principles and measures of liability and with the same rights of appeal as in cases involving collision within the admiralty jurisdiction between movable floating structures designed for navigation*Provisos.*Notice, etc.. to Attorney General.: *Provided*, That such notice of the suit shall be given to the Attorney General of the United States as may be provided by order of the said court; and it shall be the duty or the Attorney General to cause the United States attorney in such district to appear and Commencement of suit.defend for the United States: *Provided further*, That said suit shall be brought and commenced within four months from the date of the passage of this Act.
