R. 7354](/us/bill/70/hr/7354).][[Public, No. 617](/us/pl/70/617).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * Postal Service.Reclassification of salaries.Vol. 43, p. 1060, amended. That the third paragraph of section 6 of the Act entitled “An Act reclassifying the salaries of postmasters and employees of the Postal Service, readjusting their salaries and compensation on an equitable basis, increasing postal rates to provide for such readjustment, and for other purposes,” approved February 28, 1925 (Forty-third Statutes[U.
S. Code, p. 1243](/us/usc/p1243). at Large, page 1060, United States Code, title 39, section 116, paragraph 2), is amended to read as follows: " “Mechanics’ helpers employed in the motor-vehicle service shallMechanics’ helpers. receive a salary of $1,600 per annum: Provided, That on and after*Proviso.* Promotion to general mechanics or special mechanics. the passage of the Salary Reclassification Act of February 28, 1925, and upon the presentation of satisfactory evidence of their qualifications after one year’s service, mechanics’ helpers may be promoted to the first grade of general mechanics or special mechanics, as vacancies occur.
