May 29, 1928.[[S. 4327](/us/bill/70/s/4327).][[Public, No. 589](/us/pl/70/589).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * Washington County, Ala.Title of United States relinquished of lands in, claimed by Seth Dean. That all the right, title, and interest of the United States in and to section 41, all in township 3 north, range 1 east, Saint Stephens meridian, Washington County, Alabama, containing six hundred and forty acres, as shown on a plat of survey made by Thomas Freeman, surveyor, of United States land south of Tennessee, approved January 26, 1849, and segregated thereon as the claim of Seth Dean be, and the same is hereby, released, relinquished, and confirmed by the United States to the equitable owners of the equitable titles thereto, and to their respective heirs and assigns forever, as fully and completely, in every respect whatever, as could be done by patents issued according to law: *Provided*, That this Act shall amount only to a relinquishment*Proviso.*Only title of United States relinquished. of any title that the United States has, or is supposed to have,973 in and to any of said lands, and shall not be construed to abridge, impair, injure, prejudice, or divest in any manner any valid right, title, or interest of any person or body corporate whatever, the true intent of this Act being to concede and abandon all right, title, and interest of the United States to those persons, estates, firms, or corporations who would be the equitable owners of said lands byRights of equitable owners not affected. reason of long continuous possession under color of title with claim of ownership, or otherwise, under the laws of the State of Alabama, including the laws of prescription and limitation, in the absence of the said interest, title, and estate of the United States.
