R. 7552](/us/bill/70/hr/7552).] [[Private, No. 506](/us/pvtl/70/506).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Bertina Sand.
Payment to, for personal injuries. That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $4,560.25 to Bertina Sand, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, as reimbursement for loss of earning power and for expenses actually incurred by her as the direct result of personal injuries received by her on the 7th day of April, 1927, at Minneapolis, Minnesota, when she was struck by a Government motor vehicle then and there negligently operated by the Post Office Department of the United States Government, and as full compensation for said injuries, the pain and *Proviso*.
Restriction on attorney’s fees.suffering from the same, and the damages resulting therefrom: *Provided*, That it shall be unlawful for any agent or agents, attorney or attorneys, to exact, collect, withhold, or receive any sum which in the aggregate exceeds 5 per centum of the amount of any item appropriated in this bill on account of services rendered or advances made in connection with said claim, any contract to the contrary Violation a misdemeanor.notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not less than $1,000 nor more than $2,000.
