R. 5925](/us/bill/70/hr/5925).][[Private, No. 25](/us/pvtl/70/25).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,That the Secretary Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland.Redemption of lost certificates of indebtedness of.of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to redeem, without interest, in favor of the Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland, 4½ per cent United States Treasury certificates of indebtedness numbered 9415 and 9416, in the denomination of $500 each, and numbers 18067, 18068, and 18069, in the denomination of $1,000 each, series TD–1922, issued December 15, 1921, matured December 15, 1922; also to redeem without interest 3¾ per cent United States Treasury certificates of indebtedness, numbered 1048, and 1049, in the denomination of $500 each, series TJ–1923, issued June 15, 1922, matured June 15, 1923; the said certificates having been lost, stolen, or destroyed: *Provided*, That the said certificates *Provisos*.Condition.of indebtedness shall not have been previously presented and paid:*And provided further*, That the said Fidelity and Deposit Company Indemnity bond.of Maryland shall first file in the Treasury Department a bond in the penal sum of double the amount of the principal of said certificates of indebtedness in such form and with such sureties as may 1708be acceptable to the Secretary of the Treasury to indemnify and save harmless the United States from any loss on account of the lost, stolen, or destroyed certificates of indebtedness herein described.
