CHAP. 58.— An Act To reorganize the customs collection district of Alaska.March 16, 1896. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,*Alaska customs district.R. S., secs. 2591, 2592, pp. 512, 513, amended. That the customs collection district of Alaska be, and the same is hereby, reorganized and established to comprise the Territory of Alaska, in which Sitka shall be the port of entry. Sec. 2. ThatSubports of entry and delivery. such other places as may be designated by the Secretary of the Treasury, as the interests of commerce may require, shall be subportsOfficers. of entry or delivery or both; and customs officers shall be stationed at such subports, with authority to enter and clear vessels, receive duties, fees, and other moneys, and perform such other services and receive such compensation as in the judgment of the Secretary of the Treasury the exigencies of commerce may require.
Sec. 3. ThatRepeal. all acts or parts of acts in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed. Approved, March 16, 1896.
