CHAP. 144.— An Act To authorize the appointment of women as public school trustees in the District of Columbia.March 1, 1895. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,District of Columbia.Women may be school trustees.Board increased.Vol. 22, p. 142. That the Commissioners of the District of Columbia be, and they are hereby, authorized to appoint women as members of the board of trustees of the public schools of the District of Columbia, and for this purpose the number of trustees of said board shall be increased from nine to eleven.
