CHAP. 134.— An act to amend an act entitled “An act authorizing the Commissioners of the District of Columbia to issue twenty-year five per centum bonds of the District of Columbia, to redeem certain funded indebtedness of said District”, approved June tenth, eighteen hundred and seventy-nine.June 8, 1880. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the act entitled “An act 166 FORTY SIXTH CONGRESS. Sess.
II. Ch. 134, 135, 136, 137. 1880. authorizing the Commissioners of the District of Columbia to issue Issue of twenty-year live per cent, bonds of District of Columbia,twenty-year five per centum bonds of the District of Columbia to redeem certain funded indebtedness of said District ”, approved June tenth, eighteen hundred and seventy-nine, be, and the same is hereby, so amended as to authorize the Commissioners of said District to issue registered bonds as well as coupon bonds upon the terms and conditions and in the manner provided in said act; and the Secretary of the Treasury lie, and hereby is, authorized to exchange registered bonds for coupon bonds already issued under the authority of the act approved June tenth, eighteen hundred and seventy-nine, and to sell either the registered or coupon bonds, as may be most to the benefit of the said district, at not less than their par value, in the 1879, ch. 17,Stat.
I, sess. I.redemption of the said funded indebtedness of said District: *Provided*,*Proviso*.Limit to issue of bonds. That the amount of both the registered and coupon bonds so issued or exchanged, with those, already issued under said act, shall not exceed the amount of one million two hundred thousand dollars, as provided in said act of June tenth, eighteen hundred and seventy-nine. Approved, June 8, 1880. Chapter 135: to authorize the Secretary of War to improve and repair the Mullan wagon-road between Forts Missoula and Cœur d’Alene.
