Chap. XXVII.— An Act *making appropriations for the support of an additional Military Force.* Feb. 21, 1812.[Obsolete.] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, *Appropriation. That for defraying the necessary expense, to the first day of January next, of the troops to be raised by virtue of an act, entituled “An act to raise an additional military force,” passed on the eleventh day of January, one thousand eight hundred1813, ch. 14. and twelve, the following sums be, and the same hereby are respectively appropriated, that is to say:
For pay, one million four hundred and six thousand eight hundredSpecific appropriations. and fifty-one dollars and ninety-five cents. For forage, one hundred and fifty-four thousand four hundred and thirty-five dollars and thirty cents. For subsistence, one million seventy-four thousand and ninety-seven dollars and sixty-seven cents. For clothing, eight hundred and sixty-three thousand two hundred and forty-four dollars. For bounties and premiums, four hundred and forty-two thousand two hundred and sixty dollars.
For the purchase of horses for the dragoons, and for the purchase of horses for the transportation of heavy artillery, ammunition and baggage, two hundred and eighty-two thousand dollars. For the quartermaster general’s department, including harness and other equipage, quarters, fuel, tools and transportation, four hundred and eight thousand seven hundred and sixty dollars. For the medical and hospital department, one hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars. 684TWELFTH CONGRESS.
Sess. I. Ch. 29, 30. 1812. Specific appropriations.For contingencies, three hundred and fifty-five thousand nine hundred and eleven dollars and seventeen cents. Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the several sums specifically appropriated by this act, shall be paid out of any monies in the treasury not otherwise appropriated. Approved, February 21, 1812.
