Chap. LIII.— An Act *authorizing the Construction of twelve small Side-wheel Steamers.* August 5, 1861. Twelve small side-wheel steamers.*Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * That the Secretary of the Navy shall cause to be constructed, with the least possible delay, twelve small side-wheel steamers, for the use of the navy of the United States, of light Appropriation.draught and great speed; and that for the purpose aforesaid twelve hundred thousand dollars be, and the same hereby is, appropriated.
