## SECTION 1 SHORT TITLE; TABLE OF CONTENTS.1 **[**[20 U.S.C. 9201 note](/us/usc/t20/s9201)**]** ###
(a)Short Title This Act may be cited as the “Workforce Investment Act of 1998”. 1Section 511(a) of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (Public Law 113–128; enacted July 22, 2014) provides for an amendment to repeal the entire Act. Section 506(a) of such Public Law provides: “[e]xcept as otherwise provided in this Act, this Act, including the amendments made by this Act, shall take effect on the first day of the first full program year after the date of enactment of this Act”. The effective date for carrying out the repeal is July 1, 2015; however, there are select provisions of the ’98 law that continue to apply after such date through June 30, 2016.
