## SEC. 1242 FEMA UPDATES ON NATIONAL PREPAREDNESS ASSESSMENT Not later than 6 months after the date of enactment of this Act, and every 6 months thereafter until completion, the Administrator shall submit to the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate and the Committees on Transportation and Infrastructure and Homeland Security of the House of Representatives an update on the progress of the Agency in completing action 6 with respect to the report published by the Government Accountability Office entitled “2012 Annual Report:

Opportunities to Reduce Duplication, Overlap and Fragmentation, Achieve Savings, and Enhance Revenue” (February 28, 2012), which recommends the Agency to— ####

(1)complete a national preparedness assessment of capability gaps at each level based on tiered, capability-specific performance objectives to enable prioritization of grant funding; and ####

(2)identify the potential costs for establishing and maintaining those capabilities at each level and determine what capabilities Federal agencies should provide.
