## SEC. 862 AUTHORITY TO WAIVE TENURE REQUIREMENT FOR PROGRAM MANAGERS FOR PROGRAM DEFINITION AND PROGRAM EXECUTION PERIODS ###
(a)Program Definition Period **[**[10 U.S.C. 2430 note](/us/usc/t10/s2430)**]** Section 826(e) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2016 (Public Law 114-92) is amended by striking “The Secretary may waive” and inserting “The service acquisition executive, in the case of a major defense acquisition program of a military department, or the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics, in the case of a Defense-wide or Defense Agency major defense acquisition program, may waive”. ###
(b)Program Execution Period **[**[10 U.S.C. 2430 note](/us/usc/t10/s2430)**]** Section 827(e) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2016 (Public Law 114-92) is amended by striking “The immediate supervisor of a program manager for a major defense acquisition program may waive” and inserting “The service acquisition executive, in the case of a major defense acquisition program of a military department, or the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics, in the case of a Defense-wide or Defense Agency major defense acquisition program, may waive”.
