## SEC. 502 ENERGY EFFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS UNDER SELF-HELP HOMEOWNERSHIP OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM Section 11 of the Housing Opportunity Program Extension Act of 1996 (42 U.S.C. 12805 note) is amended by inserting after subsection
(f)the following new subsection: > > ### “(g) Energy Efficiency Requirements > > The Secretary may not require any dwelling developed using amounts from a grant made under this section to meet any energy efficiency standards other than the standards applicable at such time pursuant to section 109 of the Cranston-Gonzalez National Affordable Housing Act (42 U.S.C. 12709) to housing specified in subsection
