144.336 REGISTRY OF PERSONS TYPED FOR HUMAN LEUKOCYTE ANTIGENS.
§
Subdivision 1. Release restricted.
No person, including the state, a state agency, or a political subdivision, that maintains or operates a registry of the names of persons, their human leukocyte antigen types, and their willingness to be a tissue donor shall reveal the identity of the person or the person's human leukocyte antigen type without the person's consent. If the data are maintained by a governmental entity, the data are classified as private data on individuals as defined in section 13.02, subdivision 12 .
§
Subd. 2. Duties.
Persons that maintain or operate a registry described in subdivision 1 have no responsibility for any search beyond their own records to identify potential donors for the benefit of any person seeking a tissue transplant and have no duty to encourage potential donors to assist persons seeking a tissue transplant, and are not liable for their failure to do so.
