109.300 Purpose of KRS 109.310 to 109.320.

(1)It is the purpose of KRS 109.310 to 109.320 to further the intention of the General
Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky as expressed in KRS 109.011 that the
primary responsibility for adequate solid waste collection, disposal and resource
recovery rests with counties, and to assist local governments to carry out those
responsibilities.
(2)The authority granted by KRS 109.310 to 109.320 shall be construed as being in
addition to other power already given to counties. The purpose of this grant of
authority shall be to increase the range of options from which counties may choose
in order to meet local solid waste management needs.
