county -- Exception -- Certification of vote totals. In a city whose boundaries extend beyond those of a single county, candidates for nomination or election to city office shall be governed by the provisions contained in KRS 83A.045, except that all nomination papers shall be filed with the county clerk of the county in which the candidate resides no later than 4 p.m. local time on the day provided for in KRS 83A.045. On the day following the candidate filing deadline, each county clerk shall certify the names of all candidates for city office that filed nomination papers with him or her to the clerk of the other county into which the boundaries of the city extend.
In the case of a candidate voted for by the electors of a city whose boundaries extend beyond those of a single county, each county clerk shall certify the vote totals for that candidate to the clerk of the other county into which the boundaries of the city extend.
