(1)A commission as a notary public in effect on January 1, 2020, shall continue until
its date of expiration. A notary public who applies to renew a commission as a
notary public on or after January 1, 2020, shall be subject to and comply with KRS
423.300 to 423.455. A notary public, in performing notarial acts after January 1,
2020, shall comply with KRS 423.300 to 423.455.
(2)An existing commission as a notary public does not constitute authority to act as an
online notary public. Registration pursuant to KRS 423.390, and compliance with
KRS 423.300 to 423.455, is required before a notary public with an existing
commission may act as an online notary public.
