229.151 Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Commission -- Membership --

(1)The Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Commission is hereby created and
established as an agency of state government charged with the responsibility
for regulatory oversight and the establishment of sound policies and
procedures governing the conduct of unarmed combat within the
Commonwealth of Kentucky. The commission shall be organized within the
Public Protection Cabinet.
(2)The commission shall consist of the following five
(5)members:
(a)The secretary of the Public Protection Cabinet, or the secretary's
designee, who shall serve as an ex officio, voting member; and
(b)Four
(4)members who shall be appointed by the Governor as follows:
1. One
(1)member shall be a physician licensed to practice medicine
in Kentucky;
2. One
(1)member shall be an attorney licensed to practice law in
Kentucky;
3. One
(1)member shall have experience in sports marketing or
promotion; and
4. At least one
(1)member shall have no financial interest in the
business or industry regulated.
(3)The Governor shall designate one
(1)member to serve as the commission's
chairperson. The Governor shall further designate a second member to serve
as vice chairperson with authority to act in the absence of the chairperson or if
the office of the chairperson is vacant.
(4)A majority of the members of the commission shall constitute a quorum for the
transaction of business.
(5)The appointed members of the commission shall serve for a term of three
years. Any member appointed to fill a vacancy occurring other than by
expiration of a term shall be appointed for the remainder of the unexpired term.
(6)Members of the commission shall receive one hundred dollars ($100) per day
for each meeting attended and shall be reimbursed for all expenses paid or
incurred in the discharge of official business.
