From each fee received by the Connecticut Real Estate Commission for the issuance or renewal of licenses to real estate brokers for any period subsequent to September 30, 1965, and to salesmen for any period subsequent to September 30, 1971, there shall be paid over by the State Treasurer to The University of Connecticut for the support, maintenance and use of the Center for Real Estate and Urban Economic Studies an amount equal to eight and three-quarters per cent of each broker's license fee and each salesmen's license fee, which amounts shall be irrevocably dedicated to the support, maintenance and use of said center.
Said center is authorized, within the limits of the funds received by it, to publish and disseminate its studies and findings and to make a charge therefor and is authorized to receive gifts and grants from foundations, individuals and other sources.
