Section 14122 of title 49, United States Code, is amended by striking subsection
(a)and inserting the following: The Secretary or the Board, as applicable, may prescribe the form of records required to be prepared or compiled under this subchapter by carriers and brokers, including records related to movement of traffic and receipts and expenditures of money. Records described in paragraph
(1)shall be maintained or made accessible upon demand at the principal place of business of the carrier or broker. Nothing in this subsection prevents the Secretary or the Board, as applicable, from conducting an investigation at a location other than the principal place of business or virtually. .
