Sec. 213. Competitive demonstration of automated target recognition algorithms

Not later than June 1, 2025, the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer of the Department of Defense
(CDAO)shall incorporate into a global information dominance experiment a competitive demonstration of at least two different automated target recognition algorithms to determine the most suitable source of development of such algorithms. For each automated target recognition algorithm to be used in the competitive demonstration required by subsection (a), the source of development of the algorithm shall be— the Federal Government; a university-affiliated research center; or a defense contractor. The automated target recognition algorithms used in the competitive demonstration required by subsection
(a)shall be developed for the requirements of two specific projects, selected by the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer for purposes of the demonstration, within the Replicator initiative.
