Sec. 1261. Fielding of a common operating picture with Taiwan

Consistent with the Taiwan Relations Act ( 22 U.S.C. 3301 et seq. ) and not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall seek to engage with appropriate officials of Taiwan for the purpose of fielding capabilities to provide the military forces of Taiwan and the United States Indo-Pacific Command a common operating picture. The Secretary may utilize the authorities provided in chapter 16 of title 10, United States Code, and any other applicable statutory authority available to the Secretary for accomplishing the purposes specified in subsection (a).
