Not later than 30 days after the date of ratification of the constitution of the nation of Puerto Rico under section 204, the Governor shall issue a proclamation calling for the election of any officers of the nation of Puerto Rico that may be required by the ratified constitution of the nation of Puerto Rico. The election of the officers under subsection
(a)shall be held— not later than 180 days after the date of ratification of the constitution of the nation of Puerto Rico; and in accordance with the procedures and requirements established by the constitution of the nation of Puerto Rico. Not later than 10 days after the date of the election of officers under subsection (a), the Elections Commission shall certify the results of the election under that subsection. As soon as practicable after the date of the certification under subsection (c), the Governor shall submit notice of the results of the election certified under that subsection to— the President; the President pro tempore of the Senate; the Speaker of the House of Representatives; the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate; and the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives.
