There are transferred to and vested in the Administrator all functions vested in the Secretary by the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982 ( 42 U.S.C. 10101 et seq. ) relating to— the construction and operation of a repository and storage facility; entering into and performing contracts for the disposal of nuclear waste under section 302(a) of that Act ( 42 U.S.C. 10222(a) ); the collection, adjustment, deposition, and use of fees to offset expenditures for the management of nuclear waste; and the administration of the Nuclear Waste Fund under section 302(e) of that Act ( 42 U.S.C. 10222(e) ), including the issuance of obligations under paragraph
(5)of that section.
