The Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Secretary of State and the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, shall conduct a declassification review of documents relating to the involvement of the United States in the 1973 coup in Chile, including— any record of financial support provided by the United States Government to any organization or other entity, whether private or public, that supported the coup; any record of communication between an officer or employee of the United States Government and a senior military or intelligence officer of the Government of Chile during the period beginning on September 11, 1972, and ending on September 11, 1974; and any other document containing information relating to the involvement of the United States Government in the coup.
