Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this section, the Attorney General shall establish an initiative to be known as the China Initiative , which shall be carried out by Assistant Attorney General for National Security (hereinafter in this Act referred to as the AAGNS ) to counter and deter the wide range of national security threats posed by the policies and practices of the People’s Republic of China
(PRC)government. The Assistant Attorney General for National Security is authorized to direct employees assigned to the National Security Division of the Department of Justice to assist with the China Initiative and shall hire an additional 10 full-time employees to carry out activities of the China Initiative.
