The Secretary of the Army and the Secretary of the Navy shall jointly coordinate the repair and maintenance, including any planning for such repair and maintenance, of the Kolekole Pass, which originates at Schofield Barracks of the Department of the Army in Oahu, Hawaii, and ends in Waianae, Hawaii. In carrying out subsection (a), the Secretary of the Army and the Secretary of the Navy shall coordinate with representatives of government entities of the State of Hawaii to investigate the scope of work and budget requirements to structurally reinforce and repair the Kolekole Pass so it may be used for emergency egress and ingress by individuals in the event of an emergency.
Not later than 120 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the Army and the Secretary of the Navy shall jointly submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the House of Representatives a report on the investigation conducted under paragraph (1).
