Sec. 186. Report on divestment of major weapon systems

Concurrent with the submission to Congress of the budget of the President for fiscal year 2025 pursuant to section 1105(a) of title 31, United States Code, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report that— identifies each major weapon system the Secretary proposes to divest in the period of five fiscal years following the date of the report; and for each proposed divestment, includes an explanation of— the timeline for the divestment; any cost savings associated with the divestment; the rationale for the divestment; and the expected status of the weapon system after divestment.
In this section, the term major weapon system has the meaning given that term in section 3455(f) of title 10, United States Code.
