Section 168(a)(1) of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act ( 29 U.S.C. 3223(a)(1) ) is amended— by striking appropriate training, technical assistance, staff development and inserting appropriate education, technical assistance, professional development for staff ; in subparagraphs (B), (C), and (D), by striking training each place it appears and inserting professional development ; by redesignating subparagraphs
(G)and
(H)as subparagraphs
(J)and (K), respectively; and by inserting after subparagraph
(F)the following: assistance to the one-stop delivery system and the Employment Service established under the Wagner-Peyser Act for the integration of basic career service activities pursuant to section 134(c)(2)(A); assistance to States with maintaining, and making accessible to jobseekers and employers, the lists of eligible providers of training services required under section 122; assistance to States that apply for such assistance under section 122(j) for the purposes described in such subsection; . Section 168(b) of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act ( 29 U.S.C. 3223(b) ) is amended— in the header, by striking and inserting Dislocated worker ; and Performance accountability in paragraph (1)— in the first sentence— by inserting , pursuant to paragraphs
(1)and
(2)of section 116(f), after technical assistance ; and by striking with respect to employment and training activities for dislocated workers and inserting with respect to the core programs ; and in the second sentence— by striking assistance to dislocated workers and inserting assistance to individuals served by a core program ; and by striking provided to dislocated workers and inserting provided to such individuals . Section 168 of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act ( 29 U.S.C. 3223 ) is further amended by adding at the end the following: The Secretary shall, as part of the activities described in subsection (c)(2), evaluate and disseminate to States and local areas information regarding evidence-based and promising practices for addressing the economic workforce impacts associated with high rates of substance use disorders, which information shall— be updated annually to reflect the most recent and available research; and include information— shared by States and local areas regarding effective practices for addressing such impacts; and on how to apply for any funding that may be available under section 170(b)(1)(E). .
