Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of State, in consultation with the Secretary of Commerce, shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a report on how the United States is coordinating with its partners and allies— to secure global supply chains, including supply chains for— semiconductor manufacturing and advanced packaging; large capacity batteries, including batteries for electric vehicles; critical minerals; and pharmaceuticals and active pharmaceutical ingredients; to develop common standards for transparent, trusted, and sustainable supply chains; and to end reliance on the People's Republic of China for such supply chains.
In this section, the term appropriate congressional committees means— the Committee on Foreign Relations, the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, and the Select Committee on Intelligence of the Senate; and the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Committee on Energy and Commerce, the Committee on Financial Services, and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives.
