In this section, the term appropriate committees of Congress means— the congressional intelligence committees; the Committee on Appropriations of the Senate; and the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives. Whenever the head of an element of the intelligence community becomes aware of a report of an anomalous health incident occurring among the employees or contractors of the element, the head of the element shall submit to the appropriate committees of Congress a brief report on the reported incident.
