Section 517 of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 ( 22 U.S.C. 2321k ) is amended by adding at the end the following: Taiwan is designated as a major non-NATO ally for purposes of this Act, the Arms Export Control Act ( 22 U.S.C. 2751 et seq. ), and section 2350a of title 10, United States Code. The President shall notify Congress in accordance with subsection (a)(2) before terminating the designation specified in paragraph (1). .
