Sec. 615. Inflation bonus pay

Beginning on January 1, 2023, the Secretary concerned shall pay a bonus to each eligible member under the jurisdiction of such Secretary concerned. Bonus pay under this section shall be paid to an eligible member on a monthly basis. Each bonus payment under this section shall be in an amount equal to 2.4 percent of the rate— in effect on January 1, 2023; and of, for an eligible member— pay under section 204 of title 37, United States Code; or compensation under section 206 of title 37, United States Code.
Bonus pay paid to an eligible member under this section is in addition to any other pay and allowances to which the eligible member is entitled. No bonus may be paid under this section after December 31, 2023. In this section, the term eligible member means a member of the uniformed services— who is entitled to pay or compensation described in subsection (c)(2); and whose basic pay for 2023 is less than $45,000.
